Volunteers Sign-Up Form

Conventions are a great place to meet like-minded folk and help strengthen the hobby. It is not without its rewards. For ten to twelve hours of work, you get free admission to the convention, a chance to help your hobby, and a cool commemorative T-shirt!  If you'd like to help out, please read on!

Note: Gamemasters are handled separately; follow this link to go to Gamemaster Sign-Up.

We generally ask volunteers to work two shifts (about 10 hours total). Many people like volunteering at OwlCon so much that they work a lot more than that and we won't stop you from doing the same. :) Some of the tasks are:

  • Registration - Sitting at the front desk, greeting people, handling money, giving out badges, answering questions, selling snacks and drinks, making runs for food and supplies. Affability, quick thinking, and the ability to smile are all great traits for this job.
  • Security - Hanging out in the Dealers' Room, watching over their booths, helping them out with random problems, making sure that open gaming does not spill over and compromise scheduled gaming, and helping with controlling random disasters and problems. Large physical size combined with an affable personality would be the ideal.

We do ask that volunteers be sixteen years of age or older.

We are not accepting volunteers for OwlCon yet.
