Volunteer Sign-Up

Volunteer Expectations:

We ask each Volunteer to work two shifts, each ranging from 5-6 hours depending on the shift. We ask that you show up 15-20 minutes before your shift to ease the transition at shift change and to ensure that you are adequately informed on your duties. Volunteers are the face of the con, and hence we ask that you be courteous, patient, and helpful. Most importantly, we need volunteers that act maturely and professionally. Security personnel should not wander off or sit down, if they need a break let us know and we will have someone stand in your place. When registration is quiet, playing games or taking a quick nap is prohibited. This shows a lack of respect for our attendees and presents a lackluster image of the con. We expect our volunteers to keep their commitments.

Do not promise to work a shift if you cannot reasonably keep that promise. When volunteers do not show up, they burden everyone else running OwlCon, and during the busiest periods, their absence will delay registration as well as gamers and GMs arriving at their game at a timely fashion. This hurts OwlCon GMs and attendees and the quality of the convention in general. If an unforeseen emergency requires you to cancel, please give us the courtesy of ample notice so we can try and mitigate your absence or find a replacement.

We require Volunteers to be 16 years of age or older.
