OwlCon 2024 Policies

Privacy Policy

OwlCon and its staff will only use your information as necessary to execute the convention, primarily for communicating with you, confirming your identity, providing you with your badge & shirt, and managing the games you sign up to host or play. We will never sell or give away your information to third parties, but we may need to share it with Rice University staff to satisfy their regulatory and legal requirements.

Harassment Policy

We at OwlCon are committed to providing a gaming experience that is fun for everyone involved. We support the right of those running events to eject players that are too disruptive. Similarly, if you have any problems, please do not hesitate to let us know. If staff or guests are harassing you, please contact a coordinator immediately to have your concerns addressed.

Refund Policy

No refunds will be given after pre-registration has closed. This includes, but is not limited to, fees for registration, t-shirts, advertisements (or other promotion fees), and exhibitor tables.

If you request a refund before the close of pre-registration, it will be honored, but we will deduct any fees that cannot be recovered, e.g. Rice Marketplace transaction fees.

Exhibitor Policy

OwlCon provides exhibitor space with the primary intent of strengthening the local gaming community while providing a interesting mixture of exhibitors for our participants. Our ideal exhibitor is a local merchant that caters to the gaming community. We also welcome other vendors and providers of services that are commonplace at gaming conventions. Table space is awarded at the judgement of the Exhibitor Coordinator based on which exhibitors they feel will best achieve our goals; the timing of your submission does not guarantee a spot.

Access Policy

OwlCon does not charge for spectating, so anyone can come and watch OwlCon and visit the exhibitors without paying a fee.

Weapons Policy

There is a zero tolerance no-weapons policy at Rice University.
